The settlement, consisting of Family homesteads "Blagodatnaya Polyana" was founded on the 2 th June, 2002, 17 km from the city of Birsk of Republic of Bashkortostan. People were inspired by the lifestyle and communion with nature, described in "the Ringing Cedars of Russia" book series ("Anastasia") by Vladimir Nikolayevich Megre. Vladimir Megre invites everyone through life-affirming images to join in the creative process of creation for yourself, your family and some kind of a special Space of Love – Family homestead.
About a hundred readers of books by Vladimir Megre (teachers, doctors, workers, housewives) wanted to take responsibility for a piece of the country and decorate it like an artist paints a picture – decorate the homestead with flowers, variety of trees and shrubs, clearings, small surface of the lake, fruit gardens, house and facilities for families.
And we found our land! The Southwestern slopes surrounded on three sides by deciduous forest, interspersed with plantations of cedar, larch, spruce and pine. In the forest flows the river Atyshka with a population of grayling. There are several springs with crystal clear water. There are a lot of berries, nuts, herbs and mushrooms. There are two karst lakes – Zhuravlinoe and Lebedinoe. Not far from the settlement (approximately 2 km) flows the beautiful, deep and fast-flowing river Bir’.
Since 2012, the legal entity – the consumer cooperative "Blagodatnaya Polyana" rent for 49 years agricultural land about 181, 3 ha in size. Now 36 families residing in the territory of 77 hectares. The rest of the 104.3 hectares are waiting for their kind hosts. This land has been depleted by extensive agriculture, gave unprofitable yields and after the disintegration of the farm has given it to us. We learn the harmonious interaction with nature and with each other, a healthy lifestyle, practicing organic farming.
In the long winter evenings we master a new craft: basket weaving, ceramics, painting on wood, landscape design, studying folk holidays and rites.
Together we have created a park with ornamental plantations, man-made lake with an area of 10 acres, shallow well and garden.
Our goals correspond with the national priority projects, such as:
– revitalization and improvement of rural areas,
– to increase the birth rate,
– the revival of the crafts and culture of Russia,
– the development and revival of derelict and abandoned lands and villages,
– the strengthening of family institutions,
– conservation and augmentation of natural heritage of Russia.
From 1968 to 2010 in our Birsky district ceased to exist 35 settlements. Abandoned forever ancestral nests – for many families this is drama.
